- Your children shouldn’t snack while they’re out trick-or-treating. Make sure you stress the importance of waiting to until they get home to eat their candy so that you have a chance to inspect their "loot.”
- Be sure to tell your children NOT to eat anything that has not been commercially wrapped.
- If your child is under the age of three, be sure to remove any chocking hazards such as, hard candy, peanuts, gum, and small toys.
- One of the most important tips, inspect the entire contents of your child's "goodie bag" for signs of tampering. If you find any commercially wrapped candy that looks suspicious, throw it away immediately.
